Before I was diagnosed with celiac disease, I was occassionally getting
these "strange reactions," which actually went away before my diagnosis
(16 months ago). But now they seem to be back. I'm hoping someone out
there can tell me if these symptoms sound familiar and whether they are
associated with injestion of gluten. The reaction consists of:

Feeling VERY warm
Shaking VERY badly (getting a cup of water to my lips is difficult)
Feeling very thirsty
Feeling very weak and somewhat lightheaded

These symptoms last for a few minutes (5 to 15). Afterwards, I feel
very sluggish and have a lot of trouble concentrating, some trouble
talking. These later symptoms last for a few hours at least.

Any help, information or advice you can send will be helpful. I have
an appointment with my doctor next week, but I doubt that he will be
able to immediately figure out what this is. Last time he wanted to
send me to a neurologist for these symptoms, but then they went away.

Thanks,

Debra L. Boutin
