Hi all,

I have been reading the posts about oats with great interest. And i
totally agree with what Scott wrote in his post.

He is writing about contamination and the danger not being that one
grain is more likely to be contaminated than another but how it is
handeled in the mills and processing plants.

This is very true, studies has shown that even "safe" products as riceflour,
tapioca, maize and others often are highly contaminated in the process! How to
avoid this? I have no idea, but by putting pressure on the manufacturers and
producers we can get them to understand how dangerous this can be!

The study mentioned that took place in Finland isn't the only one. Studies
with
oat has been done in Canada and other countries too and all of them showed the
same, it didn't hurt or damage the bowel at all! I for one is very glad about
this, it would make things so much easier if we could eat oats!

At last, I just want to say that I hope all of you Celiacs in the US are
working
hard to get a easier and better life! Here in Sweden I find it very easy to be
GF, our labels are great and the knowledge in supermarkets and restaurants is
very high. We have been working hard with for that!!!!! But I still go to my
stores and nag them once in a while about products I want to be able to buy
 and
I try to talk a lot about my situation so that more and more people
understand.

Take care all,

Anna M
