THIS IS NOT MEDICAL ADVICE, JUST SOMETHING THAT HAS WORKED FOR ME.

There have been a couple of messages recently about severe nausea with
repeated vomiting. I wonder if people who suffer that consequence of
accidental ingestion of gluten have ever thought about asking their doctors
for an emergency supply of Compazine 25mg (also called Prochlorperazine
25mg, I believe) in suppository form. I have kept those on hand for
emergency use for years, and find that they are most effective in stopping
the vomiting and letting me get a few hours of sleep. When I wake up, the
nausea is gone. I have no negative reaction, but have never taken more
than one with any illness. I DO NOT KNOW whether or not there are any
serious complications that might relate to taking this medication. One
must have a prescription, at least in the USA, so ask the doctor about side
effects, etc. if interested in getting any for a medical cabinet. I have
not checked into possible gluten content, but for me there is no negative
reaction. I hope this will be helpful for someone. They are a great
safety cushion to have along when traveling and eating in strange places.
