At various support gruop meetings ,frustration has been vented about a
lack of proper product labeling. To most , it seems an easy task to list
the gluten status of each ingredient. This is an ideal worth working
for, yet I am unaware of a concerted effort to bring such reform about.

It does not help that even the national support groups disagree on what
is safe for celiacs to consume. One publishes that canola oil and guar
gum are to be avoided, when they do not contain proteins toxic to
celiacs. Yes, some celiacs have sensitivities to these things, but some
are also sensitive to fat, corn, MSG, even green vegetables. At the
very least, muddling sensitivity and a reaction to gluten confuses the
newly diagnosed, some of whom are devastated by myriad lifestyle changes
needed to regain their health.

Any one know of a gruop working for better product labeling?
