John,
Maybe you're approaching this from the wrong angle. Make the walker
something that she participates in - decorates with stickers, keychains,
those little things girls love. She may surprise you and not really
mind so much if it's something that she customizes.

Subject: Mary a walker and Seizures

Mary a Walker and Seizures are all new issues for Mary and us. They
seem to all be pushing us towards homeschooling, especially with a
resistant school system and no ability to relocate (sale our home and
move) in this economy. First the walker I have set up multiple
appointments in June (I try to keep Mary's appointments together so she
get them over and done with as they upset her so much). I hope her
specialists collectively can help us make an informed decision regarding
the walker, seizures and homeschool in regards to those two issues.
The seizure was the first we are aware of and now we are watching her
very closely and have her attending the last nine days of school for
half days only with the school told to call us immediately if she falls
period and with them saying she will have an aid with her for each those
half days.

The walker will upset her yes any change does, if it is prescribed we
will use it. We will also ask about using a jogging stroller for long
outings and if she is cleared by her cardiologist about starting
physical therapy again. As to the siezure unfortunatley the soonest
anyone will do a sleep deprived EEG is june 23rd so I will be biting my
nails and watching her until then. I myself had epilepsy due to a head
injury and and luckily outgrew gran-mal siezure at eleven with one
relapse at age twenty four and nothing sense. The siezure even though
small has me terrified for her. The walker I look at like my birth
defect it may be unpleasant due to how it singles me out and the walkers
isingles Mary out but it has to be there. Now if the walker is
necessary

for Mary I pray that I can help her work though it and except that she
is still my same wonderful little girl. I know for Mary it will be very
hard as a walker would be new change not something she had before but I
pray I can help her through it with patience and compassion.
