Hi All--
I have just spent the past two hours searching the web trying to find
information on what presence of IgM in a skin/rash biopsy might
indicate. Or more specifically, what does IgM do? Or what is its
function in the immune system?
I was biopsied (old lesion site) to rule out DH; Mayo Clinic ruled out
DH, but stated IgM was present in 1+ intensity with scattered cytoids
along the dermal/epidermal junction.
Since DH is, by it's very name, "dermatitis," and this biopsy indicated
a nonspecific dermatitis, can anyone tell me if there is any correlation
- or what the presence of IgM with some intensity might indicate? These
rashes are making me crazy!
Thanks for all information anyone can share. I'll summarize.
