Dear List,
I am wondering if anyone out there has resources on gluten-free
medications. I can find name brand prescription medication info somewhat
easily, but my problem is with generic brands. I have terrible insurance
and it never authorizes name brands. The generic brands almost always seem
to contain gluten. Examples of meds I have had to take recently are
generic Flagyl and generic Soma. Both of these medications have put my
system into an immune assault that I can barely deal with each day. The
dermatologist I went to would not authorize my Dapsone without a biopsy and
my insurance will not pay for a biopsy. I am swollen, itching beyond
belief, covered with welts and skin eruptions, and so tired I cannot get
out of bed to be the single mother that I need to be each day. I have no
more money for gluten drugs that the doctors I see prescribe and I am so
tired of living like this. Does ANYONE know of inexpensive relief for the
itching and does ANYONE have references to publications I can get ahold of
that list gluten-free generic type dugs (for when they are needed)? I sure
would appreciate any feed-back and will summarize responses back to the
list.
Signed,
Sick and tired of being sick
and tired,
Elizabeth
