Summary for saliva test for Gliadin IgA & Gliadin IgM

IgA antibodies are known to be secreted in the saliva as well as to exist
in blood and there are several literature references suggesting that this
might be an effective alternate method of testing but there are no
published studies and no-one has submitted a product to the FDA requesting
approval. This doesn't necessarily mean that there isn't anyone doing it.
FDA approval is only required before a diagnostic product can be sold for
use in another lab. It is not required if the testing lab creates and uses
the test only within their own lab.

There are two sources for the test. One is:

Diagnos-Techs, Inc.
PO Box 58948
Seattle, WA
98138-1948
phone: 206-251-0596, or 800-87-TESTS
The test needs to be ordered through an MD and the cost is $30.

The other is:
http://www.greatsmokies-lab.com

One person wrote: Very seldom hear about that test. The most accurate
are: biopsy, antiendomysial anti body(serlogical) test and a new test
called antitrnasglutaminase(also serological)
