Several weeks ago I had an asthma reaction when eating some prepared
frozen french fries Giant brand. Since this is the same type of reaction
I had when I eat wheat I wanted to find out if their was any cross
contamination.

I contact Giant foods nutritionists. They in turn contacted the
manufacturer which turned out to be McCain's. After several phone calls
back and forth determined that no sulfides were used nor could their be
cross contamination. Still have not determined what caused the reaction
but am extremely pleased with the caring and prompt response I received
to my questions from both Giant (a large chain in the VA, DC, MD and PA
area) and from McCain's. Although I did not talk directly with McCain's
they passed on their 800 number if I had any further questions.

Apparently they have plants all over the country, my package came from a
Maine plant which does not make the ones with wheat. I would check for
your area because they apparently have plants in other states which may
have a problem with cross contamination.

I am just a pleased consumer that had a very pleasant experience with a
food manufacturer. I have no financial interest in this company.
