I've chatted with  ... that there is no delineation between a gluten
allergy and sprue  ... In his years as a GP he found that those
w/out wasting and w/out villi damage suffered all the other symptoms --
fatigue, thinning hair, neurological problems, arthritis/bone pain, etc.
And that those with wasting and trashed villi did not typically have the
other symptoms  ... <snip>

***** Interesting but what would be the "treatment" difference between
gluten allergy & sprue????

This auto immune stuff is quite variable.....

I was going on a steady downhill healthwise as my GP doc could not
figure out the problem.....for 8 months. I finally bailed & found a
gastroenterologist who saw the textbook gluten intolerance symptoms
right away <day one>.

*IF* I remained undiagnosed & the villi became entirely wiped out.....
perhaps it would have progressed to the point of "wasting"?

All I know is, it seems the end, the Rx is the same.......
