Dear list mates,

I have observed that many travel questions and good advice goes through
these channels. I have watched for any responses from people from
France and I haven't noticed any active list- respondents. So I am
appealing to you now.

My family has spent a vacation in Provence, near Vaison la Romaine for
the last few years. This year we are going in early September. This
will be my first trip as a celiac, and I want to be well prepared so
that this doesn't get in the [...]39_9Aug199810:55:[log in to unmask] 9808B 484 19 17_Outer Banks, N.C.16_Esme Neely [log in to unmask], 9 Aug 1998 13:01:04 EDT391_- <<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>>

Hi listees!

We are traveling to the Outer Banks of North Carolina in another week. Does
anyone know of good places to shop and/or dine in that area? We will have a
kithcen so knowing of a grocery store and/or health food store which are GF-
friendly would be a big help. [...]37_9Aug199813:01:[log in to unmask] 9808B 504 28 21_SUMMARY re: hair loss10_Marji [log in to unmask], 9 Aug 1998 13:55:38 -0400627_- <<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>>

I was very grateful for the 25 replies to my query regarding hair loss. Of
the 15 or so people who related personal experiences, 13 told me to be
patient: apparently six to 18 months is not unusual to have to wait after
starting the diet. Of the two who had not experienced regrowth, one has
spent several years trying to track down the cause and now suspects the
endocrine system/adrenal glands (which I was wondering about myself), and
the second had had alopecia areata (baldness in spots) for several [...]41_9Aug199813:55:[log in to unmask] 9808B 533 18 53_dealing with this and learning to be relaxed about it12_maureen [log in to unmask], 9 Aug 1998 15:29:42 -0400595_- <<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>>

I'm hoping some of you may have some encouragement and advice. I have been
totally gf for 6 weeks. It is helping some things but not the main ones yet
primarily muscle pain/fatigue. I have been pretty gf for 2 years prior. My
challenge is that I do not react after eating gluten even though I am celiac.
The paranoia is actually making me sick. If I don't plan ahead or cook all
weekend I feel stuck. then I pay attention to every body sensation and wonder,
was it gluten, [...]38_9Aug199815:29:[log in to unmask] 9808B 552 19 21_spelt/prempro hormone12_Debbie [log in to unmask], 9 Aug 1998 16:29:38 -0400593_- <<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>>

Since being diagnosed 2 years ago, I have used apple fiber as the main
ingredient in muffins instead of oat bran which I had been using pre-
diagnosis. The health food store where I was buying it has lost their
distributor. Does anyone know of a mail-order company or somewhere else that
I can purchase this product?
   Thanks,
