Hi Everybody, It was very nice of that listmember to send the post about
the oriental cookies that taste like animal crackers. I hate to sound
preachy, but, we celiacs always have to remember that we can't always rely
on the ingredient list alone to tell if a product is suitable for us or not.
Some foods have an ingredient list that sounds fine, but if you call the
manufacturer, if you are lucky enough to find a telephone number or even an
address, you may find that they are processed in the same factory with foods
containing wheat flour. They could even be rolled out, in the case of
cookies or crackers, on a wheat floured board, some cereals and candies go
down conveyor belts that have previously had wheat products on them, or in
the case of candy, wheat flour dusting on the belts so that the
candy doesn't stick.. So, always try to check out these new products. I
never eat anything that I haven't researched carefully. And as always, read
the labels before you buy, even for foods that know have been GF in the
past. Things change all the time. Karen from Central NY, USA
