Hello to All Members:

I got a very interesting e-mail, the person said that he/she was taking the
Alfalfa Vitamin to help her/his anemic condition. Alfalfa is a medication
made from a plant.

I would like to point out to you all, that if you suffer from Celiac Desease
and you are:

* ANEMIC: Under no circumstances you should take the Alfalfa supplements.
Alfalfa contains saponins, chemicals thought to destroy red blood cells.
Consequently, anyone suffering from anemia should ONLY USE ALFALFA only
under the direction of an herbalist or a licensed healthcare professional.

* Pregnancy: If you are pregnant, check with a doctor before ingesting this
herb. Alfalfa seeds contain stachycrine and homostachydrine, which promote
menstruation and in some cases can lead to miscarriage.

* LUPUS: If you have a predisposition to systemic lupus erythematosus, use
this herb on in consultation with your doctor.

I don't mean to scare anybody off by this post but I thought that it is
something that one should be aware of; because even vitamins if taken in the
wrong combination or amount can do more harm that good to the individual.

Good luck to you all.

Clelia
