From the pointer to juvela (www.juvela.co.uk) given, I found an
American subsidiary of this company SHS in Gaithersburg, MD. They carry
a line of products calls Loprofin which they claim are suitable for
gluten-free, milk-free, lactose-free, and egg-free diets.
However the ingredients of the bread include WHEAT STARCH. It carries
an asterisk that says "this product complies with the Codex
Alimentarius standard for gluten-free foods." And then it says
"not suitable for wheat-free diets."
What is this Codex Alimentarius? Usually the disclaimers go the
other way: OK for wheat-free but not OK for gluten-free. This one
is backwards.
What do I make of this?
