Here are the responses to my Vitamin E query.

Two stated the they use vitamin E as a healing agent
-------------
Vitamin E is an antioxidant and one of the sources is Safflower Oil for
cooking. In cold-pressed vegetable oils, all whole raw seeds and nuts and
soybeans. Its necessary for all forms of oxygen-consuming life forms. Is
important in energy production; I give my kids also the beta-carotine drops
plus flaxseed oil and B12.
----------------
Vit. E is pretty important! Among other things, it promotes healing (when
applied outside the body) so I wonder if it wouldn't do the same thing on
the inside! I am surprised your multi doesn't have it!
