I have CD and my 11-year-old does too. I want to get my 16-year-old tested
because, although she has no GI symptoms, she has persistent low immunity
and catches everything that comes along, just like I did when I was her
age and was eating gluten.
Our family doctor has located a lab that will do a blood test they say is
definitive for CD and doesn't need a follow-up biopsy.It tests for "anti
reticular antibody IGG, antiendomysial, antigliadin IGG and IGA". I don't
know what all that means, so I may not have reproduced it accurately.
My two questions:
        1) What does all that mean?
                and
        2) If she tests "positive", does she really NOT need a biopsy?
I would appreciate any feedback I can get from all you generous
list-mates.
