Carol,

I think your posting is very interesting. My biggest health problem over
the last five years has been malabsorption. I have been extremely
anemic for over half a decade. As a result I have had numerous health
problems, including extreme fatigue, which for me leads to depression.
Since starting a gluten free diet about four months ago I now realize I
was prone to so many ills directly due to my malabsorption. I also
belive that malabsorption as a result of celiac sprue makes one more
prone to candida which leads to malabsorption as well.

If anyone who is reading this has suffered fron acute anemia as a major
symtom I would be interested to hear how long it took your feritin (iron
count) to go back up.
