Hi All;

I received a letter from "Boars Head" in reference to my question if their
all beef franks were gf. As per your request, I am pleased to send this
information on what Boars Head products are gluten free. There are no
cereals,or fillers,no artificial colors or flavors used in manufacturing any
of our Boars Head meats. There are no vegetable gum or malts,wheat,rye,oats
or barley used. For this reason almost all of our products should be
compatable with a gluten free diet.

Some people are extremely allergic, and have asked if Vinegar is used in any
of our product. The olives in our Olive Loaf are cured in Vinegar,and there
is Vinegar in the Pickle Relish used in both Dutch Loaf and Pickle and Pepper
Loaf. It is not possible for us to trace what this Vinegar is made from, so
if this would cause a problem I would avoid these products. Also, our Hans
Jurden Cold Pack and Garlic Pickles are made with Vinegar from grain source.
However, Boars Head delicatessen style mustard, honey mustard, horseradish
and our Head Cheese are made with Vinegar that contains no gluten after it is
distilled.

There is a caramel coating on several products. Again this is made from
sugars,and should pose problem. Any time there is caramel in a product it is
listed on the label. Also I have very little information to date on the
source of enzymes and cultures used in the manufacturing of our cheeses, they
should not contain anything from a grain source. Both the Boars Head
American and Mozzarella are gluten free.

Of course I encourage you to always read the labels,and check with your
doctor for any specific ingredients he may want you to avoid. I hope this
answers your questions. Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Sincerely;
Susan Ballinger
