Aloha all,

I was an active reader (and sometimes poster) on the celiac list about
a year ago when I was going through the worst of my DH. At that time I
was seeking any others here in the islands who might want to form a
support group. All my phone inquiries then were pretty disheartening,
and so before I begin anew, I'd like to put out the request here again.

My attention has been on caring for myself this past year, and I have
stabilized now; I am resolutely gf and have hardly any itching or
internal symptoms. I didn't ever get a medical diagnosis or much
medical help (they tested, probed and poked -- ignoring my input -- and
ruled out any other possible dermatological or allergic condition,
while I just continued my gf diet and suffered.) There seems to be
little understanding of Celiac/DH here!

I am so grateful for having found this list!

I am considering seeking medical advice now and so am even more
motivated to find a medical doctor who would be open to testing and
treating me. (Aaargh... has anyone done a challenge diet?!) I am
espicially seeking one who doesn't see dapsone as the 'cure all' for
the condition. One dermatologist I contacted here last year stated
that his patient had been on it for over a year and didn't need to
follow the gf diet!!

If anyone has any information, I would be most grateful!!

Mahalo nui!
