Has anyone heard of a cheese called "Rice Slice"? I came across it today in
my health food store. Being intolerant to both Soy and Lactose would make
this rice based cheese a wonderful alternative. I am going to contact the
company to find out the gf status but wondered if anyone out there has done
the same? It comes in two varieties Mozzarella and American and only has 2gm
fat per slice. Too good to be true?

Also I remember seeing a post a few days ago questioning "Nutty Rice Cereal"
by Pacific Grain. I can't find the orig post but here is part of the letter I
received from the company in regard to it's gf status:
"We cannot say that Nutty Rice is completely gf as we have introduced 2 new
nutty cereals that use the same machinery used on Nutty Rice. Nutty corm
contains oat syrup soilds and Nutty Wheat contains Barley. While we do clean
our machinery between production runs, we cannot guarantee that some cross
contamination does not occur."

just as a side note- during my phone conversation with them, they said that
after cleaning the machinery they run the Nutty Rice batches first to further
decrease contamination chances.

(I personally have been eating Nutty Rice for breakfast on a pretty continual
basis over the last 6-8 months and have not had any noticeable reactions, and
I normally respond to accidental gluten ingestion immediately .)

Would love to hear how others tolerate it.... But would also be more than
happy to hear recommendations for a GOOD gluten free cereal alternative???
Hope everyone enjoyed the fireworks for the 4th!!!
