Members--I thought I'd pass this on to the group. I imagine he is not a
member of the list--I'm not certain why it was directed to me.

"Mrs. Wright's Caramel Corn Popped Corn Cakes" are sold at my local Safeway.
The ingredients are: corn(germ removed), whole grain brown rice, sugar,
natural flavors, caramel color, salt. I have been emphatically assured by
the manager, who made several phone calls on the subject, that this product
is completely gluten free. When I inquired, I made sure they understood all
forms of potential contamination. I did not, however, think to ask about
how the production equipment is cleaned and maintained.

I have started making my own ice cream for my son and would like to make
it a little more exciting for him by using sprinkles and/or syrups.

Does anyone know the gf status of the cake make products (often used in
holiday baking) for the following products:

  Assorted Decors:
sugar, hydrogenated palm oil, lecithin, arabic gum, confectioner's glaze,
sodium carboxmethycellulose, titanium dioxide, FD&C yellow #5, #6,
   red #3, 40, blue #1

 Sugar Crystals:
sugar, carnauba wax, confectioner's glaze, some of the above colors
although some are followed by 'lake'

 Assorted Nonpareils:
sugar, corn starch, confectioner's glaze, carnauba wax, above colors

(for future reference, is Bryers Ice Cream GF. The ingredient listing
(at least for choc and vanilla) appear to be alright, but I haven't seen
them listed on any of the safe foods lists).

Thanks.

Michele
