I have only recently joined this list as I have just recently been informed
of my possible gluten problem.

I went to see my family doctor and asked him why I always seemed to have
such stomach problems: gas, bloating, lower intestinal cramps etc. He
suggested that it may be a gluten intolerance and that I should do a little
investigating on my own to find out more information.

Soon after that I discovered this incredibly informative Celiac Listserv
and it is very helpful, but I do have some questions.

It is now Nov. 26 and I have been on a gluten free diet for about a week
and immediatly am relieved of some of the symptoms that I had and therefore
feel better but...

The soonest that I could be scheduled for a biopsy is Jan. 5. If I keep on
the GF diet until then I will feel better but am afraid that the test will
come back negative because my body will have a chance to heal. Then I won't
know if gluten is really the problem.

If I continue to eat wheat products, I will probably suffer until the
biopsy test.

I am not asking for medical advice, I am only looking for more insight from
people like yourselves who have had to go through this kind of thing
already.

Any input would be helpful.

Sincerely

Tony Walker
