I recently spoke to a customer service rep at Hodgson Mill, Inc.
(within the past month).  I stupidly did not get her name however she
assured me that their yeast is gf.  She sounded as though she was
familiar with the gluten question and offered to send me information
about all of their products.  I have never had a problem using this
brand.  As a matter of fact I prefer it to Fleischmann's (which I have
never had any conscious reaction to) because the packages are 5/16 oz
-- or as the company states on the package:  25% more yeast per pack
than most other national brands.  The information I recieved did not
exactly boost confidence in that I did not notice much that could be
construed as gluten-free but I am willing to continue to use the
yeast.  I have not been able to find Red Star in my area either.  If
any one else would like to contact Hodgson Mill, here is the info:
