I asked about clear gel and I got a quick response.  Thank you.
I ordered it right away.  With the shipping, it comes to about $5/lb.
Is there another name for it?  Can I buy it locally by referring to it by
another name?  Some say it's corn wax; the supplier says it's corn
starch.  By mail order, the shipping is more money than the price of the
product.  I'm not particularly cheap but I don't want to dump my money
because I'm uneducated.  :-)
