About the migraine-celiac inquiry, I found in the first month of the
diet before I got sick with the wretched month-long tummy and migraine
flu (far more migraines than I ever got before) my migraines decreased
significantly. I am hoping that now that the flu is finally passing that
I will return to my pre-celiac flare up state of no migraines at all. I
seriously believe in a connection between gut disturbances and migraines
(witness the accompanying nausea when you get one and how many foods set
it off). I am more than familiar with all the amines and other foods that
are vaso-active and can cause migraine but I never thought bread was one
of them. In my prediagnosed state I could fetch on a ringer migraine by
eating bread. If anyone is better informed about the vaso-active nature
of celiac no-no foods than I am I would be most pleased to hear of it.
This connection has fascinated me since the diagnosis and if the
headaches evaporate again with continued diet adherence you will
certainly get a very happy post from me. If it helps, all of my pals who
have had this awful flu who never get headaches usually have had a lot
of migraines over the past month as well-we were all very ill about
the same time.
Thanks for listening, Lisa P
