I just wanted to bring to your attention that I had been using a kids digestive enzyme product called "Buddy Bear" by Renew Life. It was formerly marked "Gluten Free" on the front of the package.
The company recently changed their packaging and is now calling the kids digestive enzyme product "Digest Smart". On the new package, it says "may contain traces of soy, milk and wheat"!
I am so upset by this! I called and spoke with someone from the company who said that apparently their technology has changed and that now they are detecting levels of these allergens, whereas before, they were unable to detect them.
I explained how disturbing this is to a customer who is so careful with the products she chooses for her Celiac child. She blamed technology as the issue and I told her that many companies go through various hoops to confirm that the words gluten free is foolproof. I will no longer purchase any of their products as I do not trust the integrity of this company.
A frustrated consumer,
LoriNYC
