>What is in Egg Nog that has gluten? Thought it was milk, egg, and

I suppose there are different recipes for egg nog as with almost
everything else. I am very cautious about everything I eat and
would check out the egg nog before consuming it, just like all other
foods I take in. I suspect it's the homemade egg nogs that contain
the alcohol. Be sure you check for any alcohol derivative in the
vanilla.

Regarding corn containing gluten, it is my layperson understanding
that it does contain a naturally occurring gluten, but it is my
understanding and belief (upon instruction from a dietitian) that
corn gluten is okay for celiacs. It's the gluten in wheat, rye,
oats, barley and possibly some other miscellaneous grains that
are harmful to celiacs. Plain corn/popcorn itself should be okay.
It's the things that are added to it you have to watch out for.
