I need some ideas. My 9 year old daughter was diagnosed with Celiac Disease in December 2012. She never cheats on her gluten free diet. We have had an amazing year with maybe three accidental glutenings since diagnosis.

The week before Christmas she had 2 or 3 days where she was crying due to abdominal pain. We had a week stretch where there was occasional stomach pain, but tolerable. The week of New Year's she was sick with a temp for five days and ended up going to our family doctor; checked for influenza (negative) and put on antibiotics.

The first week back to school was a lot of tears and me making her go to school. I did take her to the GI last week and they put her on omeprazole, did lab work and stool samples. In the two weeks between going to the family doctor and the GI doctor she has lost 2lbs.

I just got a call from the GI and her labs are all normal. I know they did a CBC, thyroid, and Celiac Panel. Not sure what else they all did. We are still waiting on the stool samples. After being on the omeprazole for about a week she is still complaining of abdominal pain, but hasn't cried for a couple days. She says it's worse in the morning and at night.

I'm at a loss...Does anyone have any experience with something like this?

Heather
