A quick and dirty poll, particularly to biopsy-dx celiacs (just trying to limit variables here; that's all):
What's your experience with anti-inflammatories?
Because of calcific tendinitis—don't do it; the inflammation is painful!—a doctor the other day gave me a cortisone shot (a good thing, in this case) and prescribed an anti-inflammatory called Arthrotec75 (75 mg.) Mildest anti-inflammatory he could give me, he said later.
Was shocked to discover that a) 30-day rx cost me $90, despite good coverage and b) information sheet says, essentially, be careful in case of gut problems.
Advil, Tylenol and Motrin don't do it for me. Don't cut pain, and cause gut problems.
Arthrotec, it turns out, produces nausea and considerable physical discomfort. The shakes, fuzziness, bad stuff.
Excedrin, which should be MUCH harder to tolerate, is my personal miracle drug.
Is it just me? Or is something celiac-related maybe going on?
thanks,
Mary
