Hello listmates (2d try)

My husband read some advertising on the web regarding gluten free bakeries. I sent a request to them and below is the response they sent.

Hope my message isn't all garbled this time and I placed the pertinent part in bold.

Mary in MI

Hello Mary,

Thank you for your inquiry. We make products with 100% certified gluten-free ingredients (we get most of them from Bob's Red Mill) and we use a mixer and pans dedicated to their production, but these items ARE made in a bakery that produces primarily wheat products. Trace amounts of wheat are always a possibility because flour particles can be in the air. If someone is seriously allergic or celiac, then we do not recommend trying our products just to be safe. We make sure that all of our customers know this before trying our products.

If you are looking for a bakery that is 100% gluten-free dedicated, I know that there is one in Grand Rapids. They are a fellow producer through the the West Michigan Food Co-Op. The bakery is called Coco-Charlotte. I do not know this for sure, but I have heard that Maggie's Gourmet Foods & Gifts out by the Lakes Mall might be carrying some of their products. I would call ahead to be sure before heading out there. The website for Coco-Charlotte is http://www.coco-charlotte.com/

Best of luck to you in your search.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.
