According to the book Nourishing Traditions, by Sally Fallon, raw nuts contain enzyme inhibitors that can cause digestive problems and thus need to be soaked and dried before eating.
Phytic acid, which is found in all grains, nuts, & seeds, binds to calcium, iron, magnesium, copper and zinc preventing your body from absorbing those nutrients.
