I wrote to the Truvia company to find out if the "added ingredients" in
their natural sweetener made from Stevia are Gluten Free.

My Message:

Message: Is Truvia Gluten Free? I have Celiac Disease and cannot
tolerate any ingredients containing wheat, barley, rye or derivatives of
these grains. The newest information on Celiac tells us that about 1 in
every 120 persons has Celiac here in the US. Celiac is an intolerance to
the gluten protein found in the above grains or derivatives of these
grains. Thanking you in advance for your information! For further
information on Celiac Disease go here: www.celiac.org or www.celiac.com

Here is their response:

Good Afternoon Lynda,
The natural flavors are compounds that come from natural sources and are
used in small amounts to enhance the flavor of the sweetener. Truvia
natural sweetener contains a proprietary flavor system that does not
contain any of the major known food allergens such as: wheat, soy, milk,
eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, fish or shellfish. Truvia is caffeine free,
gluten free, contains no MSG and is safe for people with diabetes.
Thank you

My Question:

That first sentence is a duzy. However, they do claim GF status. This
is a very new product, but I'll ask you anyway... Anyone on the list
tried this yet? I like stevia, but I've not tried this product yet.
Sincerely,
Lynda Swink
