You are coming to the right town.. Best to look up each restaurant on
Google or Yahoo to check out their GF menus

In the Irvine Spectrum (at the 5 fwy / 405 fwy) there are:
P.F. Changs (have GF menu)
Ling & Louie's Asian Bar and grill (have GF menu)

Pei Wei - Nearby in Lake Forest (get off 5 fwy at El Toro Rd.) go north on
El Toro at Rockfield in a new shopping center called The Arbor (a division
of P.F. Changs) my fav. is the Pei Wei spicy chicken salad. TELL THEM TO
MAKE THE CHICKEN STOCK VELVET. This is very important in the correct GF
preparation of it. This is a very inexpensive place to eat. Most meals
around 7-8.00 and large portions.

Chipotle Mexican Grill (casual dining) on corner of El Toro Rd & Trabuco
Rd (about 2 miles north of 5 fwy)
any type meat on what's called a burrito bowl (no tortilla). All
ingredients are GF except the spicy salsa. Everything is fresh and large
portions. My daughter and I split the bowl. Our fav is the shredded beef
burrito bowl (chicken good too, but sometimes dry). Bowls are less than
$6.00. Their home made corn tortilla chips are GF.

Go south on El Toro (just so. of the 5 fwy) is the Laguna Hills Mall. Near
the mall is a Trader Joes (on 24321 Avenida de la Carlota )
or 3 of them in Irvine 14443 Culver Drive or 6222 Irvine Blvd or 4225
Campus Drive.

There is a Mother's Market in the shopping center at Jamboree Rd &
Michelson (right off the 5 Fwy) in Irvine. Look for the big Prudential
bldg.

Normal grocery stores like Ralphs or Albertsons have a fairly good
selection of organic items and even some GF items. Best to ask a manager
or cust. service person. There's a brand new Ralphs at El Toro & Rockfield
(where the Pei Wei is).

If you can go to South Coast Plaza (off 405 Fwy at Bristol).. there is a
great Mexican food restaurant called Ztejas (zee-tahas). Just outside the
mall on Bristol St.(in our outside dining) GF menu!!! Great food. I eat
there whenever I can. Around $10. a meal I think..

On the north side of So. Coast Plaza is a fancy Italian restaurant called
Maggiano's Little Bistro (3333 Bristol St.) I've never eaten there.. gets
crowded in evenings, but my daughter said it's great. You will have to ask
what they have that's GF. sorry

Hope you have a good trip.

Irvine and he sent back a link to a great article about Gluten-Free
