Thanks to everyone who replied about your personal experience with this
restaurant. Several people actually went to the same location we did and
none of them were impressed with the staff's knowledge of the gluten free
menu. One person noted that the lemon butter sauce is not gluten free. Since
most of our members ate that and did not react, we feel sure that Bonefish is
correct in stating that sauce is gluten free. The regional manager got back to
me this week, per the corporate office request, and said all the sauces for
their fish entrees are gluten free EXCEPT the Pan Asian sauce.
Some Bonefish Grill locations are now offering a gluten free brownie but you
have to trust your local staff as to whether your location offers that or not.
All locations apparently offer a brownie - some use a recipe that calls for flour
and some don't. They also can not confirm what daily specials are gluten free
as those are chosen daily at each individual location. For me I'll probably skip
the brownie and specials until I feel the staff is better trained about what
gluten actually is. The reason they said the Pan Asian sauce isn't gluten free
is that is contains cornstarch....I'm pretty sure it's because it contains SOY
sauce which contains wheat.
