I am wondering about a couple things related to Celiac and the effects
of the gluten free diet. Does anyone have any experience with being
diagnosed by blood test years ago.. going gluten free for over 8
years...doing a gluten challenge for a month and being given a negative
blood test result with the newer blood tests after the month of gluten
ingestion?
Also, is it against the law to raise your children on the gluten free
diet after testing with their pediatrician and going gluten free because of
major symptom relief? If the blood test was not as accurate as the tests
today; but did not rule out Celiac, and the doctor recommends the diet
because symptoms abate...is this illegal for a parent to do? Does that make
a parent an abuser of the child in this instance? Any feedback would be
very appreciated.
Sincerely,
ED
