Hi Everyone!
I have been gluten-free for 2 years and "never" suffered from joint pain.
Mid-September my doctor put me on 100 mg Doxycycline twice a day for 10
days since I tested borderline for Lyme Disease. The antibiotic made me
sick and I later learned I should have taken a probiotic while on the
antiobiotic. So, I started taking Acidophilus (2 billion) before each meal
about a month later (mid-October). It took care of all my symptoms except
that I have developed severe joint pain these last couple of weeks (in the
toes, ankles, elbows, wrists). I understand now that antibiotics can
damage our gut flora and throw off the bacterial balance. I just don’t
know what else to do?
Does anyone have any personal experience similar to mine that they could
share? Is there anything else I should do? How long should I keep taking
the Acidophilus? How long does it take the pain to go away or is this
permanent?
Thank you so much and I will summarize!
Warm Regards,
Janet Kline
