Hi,
I want to point out that with DH (dermatitis herpetiformis), it is very
very important to follow a 100% GF diet and avoid all cross-contamination.
It is true that once one has DH, one has to avoid iodine too until the
symptoms are cleared. It can take up to 2 years to clear completely.
Once there's no symptoms anymore, you dont have to avoid iodine anymore
(if you are following a 100% gf diet).
The ideal would be if you can manage DH symptoms with the diet only and
avoid Dapsone, as it has bad side effects.
Important: if you still have DH after you have been on the GF diet for a
few years, it means you have gluten sneaking in you diet.
