CLAN THOMPSON'S SMARTLIST™ JUST GOT SMARTER

Clan Thompson™, creators of the Celiac Food and Drug SmartList™ software that allows users to check the gluten status of thousands of items, released their biggest update ever in October. Information on over 1,600 items was updated and approximately 330 new items were added to the list for a total of 4,375 items. However, the new information isn’t all that’s new about their product. A number of changes have been made to the software, as well.

“We’ve been re-designing the software for several months,” said Lani K. Thompson, a partner of Clan Thompson™ along with her son, Jeffrey. “We wanted to incorporate features into our software that customers have been asking for. For instance, the old program didn’t allow the font size or the screen size to be changed. The new software allows both.”

Users will also find that the Search (Find) function works better now. In addition to searching for different food categories, users will be able to search on manufacturers, as well. Some minor usability issues have been addressed such as now being able to hit "Enter" after typing in a search instead of having to click "Find".

A tutorial and improved help files have been added to the program along with an online link to “Gluten Alerts”. When SmartList™ researchers discover that the gluten status of a particular item has changed in between updates, the new information will be posted on the Gluten Alerts page of Clan Thompson’s web site.

This update also features an improved "Shopping List" which allows users to mark multiple items at once to add to their list.

Free, demo software is available at www.clanthompson.com. The demo software is fully functional. However, it only contains around 440 items instead of the 4,300+ items of the full SmartList™.
