Most people say not to use Kingsford, that it may contain wheat as a filler, and that getting a reliable answer from Kingsford has been problematic.

Most said that they do use all-natural charcoal products from places like Whole Foods, and one suggested "lazzarra mesquite", which she said can be ordered online if need be. (I do not know the source.)

And then there are those who said use propane. But, the reason I wrote the email to the list was that sometimes we find ourselves at picnics where it's great if we can get our food cooked separately and kept gf....but then there is charcoal in the pit.

Thanks.

Lin
