Just finished watching a re-run of the BBC's "Walking with Beasts", a digital recreation of the
Paleolithic. Narration by Kenneth Brannagh who displayed all his fine acting talents in a flawless
presentation in this unexpected forum.
Two weeks ago the program was about the emergence of the earliest Homos. This week it was
about the last ice age and the different species and their environment: mammoths, Homo
neanderthalis, Homo sapiens, woolly rhinos, deer etc. Confrontations between both of the Homo
species and the other beast were nicely done and although it won't directly tell a lot to well-
informed members of this list, the stunning visuals will give viewers a springboard for new ways of
thinking about life of our ancestors in the colder regions during the Paleolithic.
