My celiac son was just tested for Vitamin E levels and his Vitamin E Alpha levels were extremely low, although his Vitamin E Gamma levels were very high. In fact his Vitamin E Alpha levels were only a .5 which is less than what you would expect in a newborn baby.
The doctors don't seem to really know if it matters if one form of Vitamin E is low because they think if other forms are high then it all balances out. Does anyone have any insight as to whether this is accurate or not?
