Hi all. I love this group - it's been a lifeline for me.
This is a question for a close friend of mine. Her husband had colon
cancer with the appropriate chemo/Ileostomy/reversal/more chemo. He's
doing really well. He actually went out to play hockey the other day.
It's been perhaps about 4 months since his reversal. Initially, he lost
tons of weight but is gaining slowly.
I was wondering if anyone on this list might have had a similar
experience. My friend is concerned about her husband. He has very
frequent bowel movements and I've been trying to help her research a diet
that would help slow his processes down. Their daughter lives out of town
and is a doctor. They visisted her recently and she suggested that he have
a celiac blood test next time he goes in for a check up. I found that
interesting.
I'd love to hear anyone's input. I guess the trauma to the system could
result in celiac. I suggested to my friend that she monitor and record
what he eats. Do you think an elimination diet would help at this stage?
Any suggestions I will pass on to my friend who's been a real trooper
through all of this.
Thanks ahead of time for any insights you bring.
Enjoy your gf dinners. Lynn
