Seems like a controversial issue of sorts. There have been formal studies done on this subject they will not come out and say that the gluten free diet is beneficial to those with MS.
I did receive numerous responses from individuals with MS that have followed a gluten free diet with a huge symptom decrease. some have went from being unable to walk to walking without trouble. 
I guess what it comes down to is it is certainly worth a try (the gluten free diet) for those with MS, that is only my opinion.
