I had to reply after the name was mentioned of the chain pulling the GF menu.
About a month ago I ate at a Bennigan's in Chicago and saw their GF menu and "trusted" them to have a GF meal. I however did not speak with a manager. Within 3 hours I was severely sick and had stomach cramps all night long.
I called the corporate headquarters and talked to 3 different people who assured me that the meal was GF, but unfortunately the particular restaurant may have had some cross contamination.
I was not looking to complain and I told them this. I was mainly concerned that it not happen again. I let them know that it was wonderful of them to offer this and the people I talked to assured me that this would be brought up at their meetings in all the restaurants that they need to designate an area of the grill and designate utensils for the meals that are on this list.
At no time at all did any of these people (I talked to them 4 different times due to call backs, etc.) say that they were pulling the menu. There only suggestion was was to talk to a manager so that they can make sure that the grill/utensils is "safe".
I'm not saying that they aren't pulling the menu, but I have to believe that this is not accurate just because of the conversations I have had within the last 2 weeks with 4 different people at the corporate level.
