Hi All
Stonyfield's farm say they don't add anything with Gluten to their
products however their natural flavors are extracted using a grain based
process. They claim the amounts are negligible but won't say they are
gluten free. What processes do others use to extract their natural
flavors so that they can claim their products are gluten free? Is the
process any different or is Stonyfield's farm simply being more honest?
If it is different why would a company like Stonyfield's that takes so
much care to make their products Organic use a different process?
As a side note the Donna Joe's dream Pastry in Bette Hagman's "More from
the Gluten Free Gourmet" makes an outstanding pastry for an Apple Pie
(both the bottom and top shell were light and flaky). I made it
yesterday for my wife's Birthday pie (she prefers it to cake).
