Has anyone in the Atlanta area eaten at Cafe Sunflower, and if so, did you have any problems getting a gluten-free meal with no ill effects afterwards? I called the Sandy Springs location today to ask whether they could provide a GF meal (plus I'm vegan by choice). I was told they could "do their best" with the Macro Stir-Fry (which the woman said contains miso made with rice as the grain, and no soy sauce), but could not be sure there would be no cross-contamination in the kitchen. Specifically, the person I spoke with said there is always a possibility that "soy sauce might be knocked over," and some might get on the veggies that would wind up in my stir-fry! Needless to say, I did not feel very safe with that reply and decided not to have lunch there tomorrow.
I was also a little disappointed that a natural foods restaurant could offer only one possible GF choice on the entire menu. (I hadn't told her I was vegan, and there are many non-vegan items on the menu.)
