I am trying to persuade a young friend in her early 30s to get a celiac test. She is reluctant despite the fact the test is free here in the UK.
She has had CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome) for some time following an unusual and persistent rickettsia infection picked up in Africa some time ago. She avoids some wheat and dairy, I believe for this, but possibly for IBS too. She recently stubbed and broke a toe (for the third time) and broke other bones (fingers) when younger. Her doctor has suggested a bone scan. She had miscarriages before her baby was born last year.
I have some literature linking CFS/osteopenia etc with CD her but would be grateful for any personal stories that might help her persuade her to get tested. She lived many years in the US and would identify particularly with CFS sufferers there.
