I saw this when it played at a theater here in NYC in April, and was very
impressed. I've also interviewed Jasmine on public access TV here in NYC.
She was also interviewed this morning (Monday, August 28) by Brian Lehrer
on WNYC radio's "On the Line." I think that this morning's interview can still
be heard at wnyc.org for the next week or so. Anyway, the film airs on channel
13 here in New York at 10 PM Tuesday night. The TV version is an hour and
10 minutes long. Check it out.

>"AMERICAN GYPSY: a stranger in everybody's land"

*** USA National TV premiere on PBS ***
         Tuesday, August 29th at 10pm

(check local listings - times really do vary!)

Award winning documentary by Jasmine Dellal - the first time a camera has
ever been allowed in to explore the world of America's one million Gypsies,
or Rom, who have long been mysterious to outsiders. This film tells the
story of Jimmy Marks who has been described as "the Gypsy equivalent of
Rodney King." In a quest to defend his honor, he invites us to follow his
journey through Civil Rights courts to Las Vegas casinos and back to the
history of Romani people.

[For Your Information: This television cut of the film is shorter than the
version that has aired in festivals and will be sold on video.]

p.s. I apologize if your name has made it onto this list by mistake.
