Hi Everyone,

I contact RCCL a few days ago regarding booking a cruise with them to find out how compliant they might be with this new GF diet. Carnival has a typical CYA disclaimer on their FAQ but did not go further with a request yet.

However almost simulatenouly I just received my copy of "Against the Grain" (excellent book- thank you to all for recommending it) which indicates that RCCL is not on top choice of cruise lines evidently.

Below is the RCCL response I received via email. It gives a phone number and contact name fortunately so if anyone else is thinking about a trip with them here is the contact info.

***********

My question however is if anyone has a good/better than average experience with any particular Cruise line or ship- please email me. I prefer to go on either Carnival or RCCL since we can stay local, however will consider others (for a U.S.port of departure only though- (IE: CA. or Florida).

IMHO I did not like the "Free Style" cruising on our Alaska trip with Norwegian and the food service/attitude was the worst I believe since all tips are practically guaranteed and built in and do not have to earn them like the traditional cruises. Freestyle I felt was where the 80/20 rule applies (20% do all the work) You also do not have a dedicated waiter like the traditional seat assigned dining.

Any input would be appreciated.

One more thing, my endoscope biopsies (he took several too) came back negative when I went to the GI this week so more blood taken for the Prometheus full celiac panel in addition to confirm or contradict. Main thing is I am feeling excellent after being Gluten Free for now 3 weeks as of today. I cannot believe how good I am feeling too, though I still have LBM I cannot seem to figure out why, perhaps a soy intolerance so have to eliminate some more to figure it out.

Once again thanks to all of you for your previous emails and help. This is a great group.

Dave
