Whew! I've never received so many replies on a subject before! Approximately 75 people emailed me!!! This is definitely a problem a lot of us have. Thank you all SO MUCH for all of your wonderful suggestions. I wish I could reply to each and every one of you!
There is no way I can repeat what everyone suggested, so I'll summarize in my own words. Basically, we have to be our own detectives...that most doctors will not be able to find the cause. First we have to make sure all the body/laundry products we use are GF. Second, it could be possibly eating hidden gluten, or it could be another allergy...possibly corn, dairy, soy, etc. Some suggest doing an elimination diet...others suggest keeping a food diary. Many said dehydration could be the cause (or at least make it worse). A couple suggested a possible candida problem, one person said it could be pruiritis, another said lack of vitamin E. A couple said to eliminate sugar completely. One person said taking 150 mg of zyrtec & 150 mg. Zantac daily helped her immensely. Also, putting sesame oil or baby oil on after a shower, before one is dry, helps the skin. Testing for liver and kidney function is very important, as well as exercise. Check Selenium levels. I'm sure I've left some suggestions out, but you get the picture. A Holistic doctor might help, too. Thanks!
Kathy
